Another hour run today before the rain started. I headed up to the college and then ran back toward town. I wore my baseball cap, expecting the rain to start...but it held off. Halfway through, my new watch started beeping (I guess I had set the alarm and didn't even know it!) My legs can tell they've had a workout, but I feel great. While running, I worried about friends in Florida dealing with the hurricane. I also began to plan my courses for this fall. And then I spent some time thinking about this new part-time job and all the travel that comes with it. I'm excited! I'll be visiting Atlanta, Orlando, San Diego, and Las Vegas as well as Philiadelphia, Richmond and DC. I've never been much of a traveler, so this should be interesting.
I'm beginning to understand how to "make" myself focus while running. I can now choose whether to think about a work problem, or my breathing, or my form. It makes me feel powerful and in control.
This is my plan for the week (hey, she has a plan!!):
Sunday: walk 4 miles am,
Monday: weights am, walk 4 miles pm
Tuesday: run 3 miles
Wednesday: weights am, walk 2 miles pm
Thursday: run 3 miles, run 1.5 miles pm
Friday: weights am
Saturday: long run-- 5 miles

Sounds like a great job! I'm so jealous! I have a friend whose job takes her out to places where a tumbleweed is her only source of entertainment. But it sounds like you lucked out.
Good luck with the new plan this week!

Thanks~ being able to keep one foot in the old job while I consider the new one is a real plus. Life is changing for me...but it's looking good.

A plan! A plan! I need a new plan. Remember to put your plane ticket in the hotel safe in Las Vegas so you can't try to sell it when you runout of money ;)
